Prolific arcade game developer/publisher 111% has released a new shoot-em-up. Wiggle Whale puts players in control of their very own whale as it swims around the ocean destroying various pirate turrets, boats, and bombs.
As with most 111% titles, Wiggle Whale has very simple gameplay mechanics, players control their whale’s turning as it constantly swims forward and shoots something (energy bullets?) out of its mouth or blowhole. Hitting a single enemy or enemy projectile means game over.
Wiggle Whale also tasks players with completing challenges and rewards them with experience. These missions are mostly simple tasks like killing a certain number of enemies, playing a certain number of games, or achieving a particular score. More challenges are said to be coming in future updates. As players level up they can unlock new skins for their whale, giving them something to play for beyond a high score.
111% is known for releasing simple arcade titles that are easy to pick up and play. The company’s biggest games include block breaker BBTAN (and its sequal BBTAN 2), samurai game Karl (and sequel Karl2), as well as the popular Turretz.
Wiggle Whale is free and contains ads and in app purchases. Here is an excerpt from the game’s Google Play description and a trailer with more information:
