The publisher behind Oceans & Empires, Game of Dice and Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War has just soft launched their new RPG. The War of Genesis: Battle of Antaria is a new RPG that has mixes airships, fantasy monsters and heroes, and mechas.
At its core, The War of Genesis is a turn-based RPG, but it also has some strategy game elements. The game’s combat system is simple and will feel familiar for fans of titles like Summoners War, as players take turns attacking waves of monster using a mixture of basic attacks and skills while taking advantage of elemental weaknesses. Genesis’ combat adds some cinematic elements thanks to a focus on attack and skill animations.
Outside of combat players will find themselves going between their airship base and the game’s world map. While on their airship players will be able to head to the laboratory to unlock new heroes, and research new abilities that improve their capabilities in and out of combat. Or they can upgrade various facilities and visit different parts of the ship.
On the world map players will find monsters and players to attack. The world map resembles many mobile strategy games like the aforementioned Pirates of the Caribbean and more recent titles like Iron Throne.
The War of Genesis also promises users the ability to invest their money in guilds using stock exchange-like mechanics, the option to create custom quests, and a private shop that lets them sell certain items to other players.
As far as monetization goes, the game lets players use premium currency to bypass numerous timers. Purchasing premium currency also gives users VIP points. Genesis’ VIP system allows players with enough points to gain a range of benefit designed at reducing the costs of upgrades, speeding up the game, and similar benefits.
The War of Genesis is currently available in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Singapore.
