The company behind the immensely popular Real Boxing franchise has launched a new sci-fi action game. Previously only available in select regions, Space Pioneer is an action packed shooter with a dynamic objective structure and lots of different environments to explore.
At its core, Vivid Games’ Space Pioneer is a 2.5D shooter that pits the player against hordes of aliens. Players will need to upgrade their arsenal with new weapons, upgrades, and unlockable combat abilities as they try to take on the game’s robotic and alien enemies.
Moving beyond the core of the game, Space Pioneer packs a surprising amount of content into its mobile package. Most notable is the game’s dynamic objective system which procedurally generates new tasks for players to accomplish. These might be things like destroying a monster nest with a bomb players have acquired, finding an artifact, or simply taking out a specific number of aliens.
The game also offers players a large array of planets to explore and conquer, each packed with enemies that will make quick work of players who don’t have a quick trigger finger. Users will also be able to create and manage their own base as they try to gather more valuable resources. Those looking for a more structured mode can try out the game’s horde mode, which pits the player against waves of enemies on one of a number of difficulty levels.
Space Pioneer was originally released on iOS at the end of May and was previously available in select regions as part of the game’s soft launch.
Space Pioneer is free and contains ads and in app purchases. Here is a trailer with a look at the game:
