Space Harrier II Classic Now Part of Sega Forever
Sega has released Space Harrier II Classic on Google Play as part of their Sega Forever collection. Like other Sega Forever titles, the classic third person shooter is ad-supported, and if you want to remove the ads for a better experience it will only set you back $1.99 (temporarily $0.99). Space Harrier II was originally released on the Sega Mega Drive in Japan, and was a launch title for the Sega Genesis when it became available in the United States. The Sega Forever release has the Sega Mega drive branding on the Sega Forever splash screen. In the game players control the Harrier, and fly or run and shoot enemies as they fly towards you. It looks and feels like what you might expect from 1980s science fiction, with lots of bright colors and some outlandish enemy designs. The original Space Harrier was an early example of an on-rails 3rd person shooter.
This version of Space Harrier II offers both on screen buttons and controller support, leaderboards, and offline play. Sega has also dropped the price on ad-removal for all of the games in the Sega Forever collection by 50%, bringing them down to $0.99. If you want to try out some of Sega’s classics, now would be a great time to build up your library.
The Sega Forever library now includes:
- Altered Beast
- Comix Zone
- Golden Axe
- Kid Chameleon
- Phantasy Star II
- Sonic The Hedgehog
- Space Harrier II Classic
- The Revenge of Shinobi
- Virtua Tennis Challenge
