SEGA’s SEGA Forever program has added another game to its growing catalog. Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode II becomes the latest game to get the SEGA Forever treatment despite already being available on Android and iOS.
Sonic 4 Episode II was originally released on mobile in 2012 and was available without ads or in app purchases for $2.99 until it was removed from Google Play earlier today. The game was an attempt to bring classic sonic gameplay to a new audience, offering the same gameplay style as older Sonic games. The game follows Sonic and Tails as they try to stop Dr. Eggman and his latest doomsday weapon, the Death Egg mk.II.
This is not SEGA’s first mobile game to be converted to a SEGA Forever title. Crazy Taxi and Super Monkey Ball: Sakura Edition were both available as standard mobile games before joining the SEGA Forever program.
As with all Sega Forever titles, Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode II is free with ads. The game’s ads can be removed for via an in app purchase for $1.99. Here is an excerpt from the game’s Google Play description, as well as an update list of Sega Forever titles:
