After a long beta test that helped the game accumulate over 100,000 downloads on Google Play, Somewhere: The Vault Papers has officially launched.
Somwhere is a text adventure from Norseman Interactive and Playdius that tells the story of journalist Cat as she texts you and enlists your help in her investigation. The experience plays out in real-time, with player choice having an impact on how the game’s story will play out, leading up to one of the game’s multiple endings. Players will receive notifications throughout the day from Cat, with some requiring them to do their own research to answer Cat’s inquiry’s. As with Catan Stories: Legend of the Sea Robbers, this is not a game players should expect to play in a single session. However, players that complete the game once can use the game’s fast mode to avoid some of the delays associated with playing the game in real time.
Playdius is part of Plug in Digital and known on Android as the publisher of a number of text adventures and interactive narratives. Thus far the French company has released “A Normal Lost Phone”, “Bury me, my Love”, and “Another Lost Phone”. On iOS the company has released Silent Streets: The Mockingbird’s Last Dive, which is coming to Android.
Somewhere: The Vault Papers is free to try and has a $2.99 in app purchase to unlock the full game. The game does not contain any ads or other in app purchases. Here is an excerpt from the game’s description and a trailer with more information:
