Shin Megami Tensei fans in select regions can now sign up for the English language beta test for Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2. The closed beta test is open to users from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Singapore, Philippines, and Malaysia.
Already available in Japan, Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2 is an original new game in the long-running Shin Megami Tensei franchise. Like other SMT games, Dx2 is an RPG that involves summoning and battling a wide range of demons. The game revolves around battles between competing factions of Devil Downloaders (Dx2), humans who have the ability to summon demons using their smartphones. Players will be able to collect, power up and fuse demons as they explore the game’s dungeons and battle demons.
Made to be accessible for new players, the game features an auto mode, all new 3D versions of the franchises demons and easy to pick up mechanics. For series regulars, the game promises the return of many of the series’ demons, as well as a number of mechanics that SMT vets will find familiar.
The closed beta test is set to run for 1 week and is scheduled for some time in June. Players who sign up and are chosen to participate will be notified via email before the beta begins. There only device requirements specified are 2GB+ ram and Android 4.4 or higher. Beta slots are said to be limited, and not everyone who signs up may receive a spot.
