Nearly two years after its release on PC, developer Beamdog’s Baldur’s Gate expansion Siege of Dragonspear is now available on Android. Dragonspear promises a lengthy campaign with an all new story, over 100 new items, and a new class to experience.
Siege of Dragonspear is an original Baldur’s Gate title developed by Beamdog and takes place between the stories of Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition. Promising a 30 hour RPG experience, the game lets players import their game saves from Baldur’s Gate and continue their adventure using the same character or start fresh with a new adventurer.
Unlike the PC version, the Android release of Siege of Dragonspear is a standalone expansion. That means gamers don’t need to own Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition to play the game. Those that do want to experience other Baldur’s Gate titles, both of Beamdog’s previous release are currently on sale on Google Play.
Please note that Beamdog has recommended against playing the game on devices with a screen size of under 7 inches.
Siege of Dragonspear is $9.99 and does not contain any ads or in app purchases. Here is an excerpt from the game’s Google Play description and a trailer with more information:
Siege of Dragonspear tells the story of the events between Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition. The Forgotten Realms is in a time of strife as a crusade marches from the north, seizing supplies, forcing locals into military service, and disrupting trade along the Sword Coast. A charismatic warrior with glowing eyes known as Caelar Argent leads this army, her background shrouded in mystery.
