Pre-Registration Now Open for An Upcoming RWBY Strategy Game

RWBY: Amity Arena

NHN Entertainment has opened up pre-registration for RWBY: Amity Arena, an upcoming head-to-head strategy game based on the RWBY animated series.

The game will take place during the Vytal Festival, where combatants gather to test their skills in a battle tournament. Players will be responsible for building a team of Huntsmen and Huntresses and taking on opposing players and their teams in the game’s many different arenas.

RWBY: Amity Arena will be real-time head-to-head strategy that resembles other titles in the genre, including Clash Royale. Players will need to collect and power up different character cards and build a deck filled with complimentary cards before going to battle against their opponents. As with other games, players will be able to summon cards using a constantly refilling pool of energy (Aura) and try to take down their opponent’s base. As with other games in the genre, Amity Arena’s matches last only a few minutes, with an extra minute of sudden death added in the case of a tie.

The game has recently concluded a short closed beta test, and progress and accounts from the test will be wiped prior to the game’s official launch. The closed beta was limited to the cards players can obtain in the game’s first four arenas and a number of features were disabled during the test.

Amity Arena pre-registration will reward players with a Ruby emoticon set and pajama costume if they register on the game’s official website, while those that pre-register through Google Play will also receive 1,000 Lien (basic currency). Gamers in China and most of Europe will need to wait a little bit longer as a different pre-registration campaign will be created when the game moves towards launching in those regions.

RWBY is an animated web series from the media company Rooster Teeth and created by Monty Oum. It is set in the world of Remanent and follows team RWBY as they train to become Hunters and Huntresses. So far there have been 66 episodes of the show spread across 5 volumes.
