With the releases of games like The Letter and White Night, the horror genre has been expanding on Android, and there’s another new game to add to the list. Infinitap Games has released the psychological horror game Neverending Nightmares on Android and iOS. Inspired by the developer’s own mental health issues, the game follows Thomas as he navigates nightmares. Neverending Nightmares is primarily greyscale, with only certain things like blood retaining their color. That creates a great deal of contrast but might take away from the game’s hand-drawn art style.
Neverending Nightmares was originally released on PC via Steam and the short lived Ouya gaming console in 2014 and was later ported to the Playstation 4. The currently enjoys 75% positive reviews on Steam.
Neverending Nightmares is $3.99 and does not contain any ads or in app purchases. The $3.99 pricetag is signficantly lower than the game’s $14.99 regular price on other platforms. Here is an excerpt from the game’s description and a trailer with more information:
Neverending Nightmares puts players in the shoes of Thomas, a disturbed young man who is doomed to dream, fear-wracked and rattled and far from the comfort of the waking world. As he tumbles through endless night, Thomas will encounter the apparitions that dwell in the spaces between sleep and sleeplessness, where the bounds of reality begin to bend and warp and each new sight is an unequaled horror. It is up to the player to evade the denizens of darkness, to discern reality from illusion, and to learn the terrible truth behind the nightmare.
