X.D. Network, the publisher behind the mobile releases of the action packed ICEY and RPG To The Moon, has launched a new music and rhythm game. Muse Dash combines music and rhythm gameplay with stylized graphics and the outward appearance of a runner.
Developed by PeroPeroGames, Muse Dash looks like a typical runner at first glance as the player constantly runs towards the right side of the screen while being bombarded with enemies and obstacles that they have to dodge or attack. Where the game deviates from that path is that it plays entirely like a rhythm game.
Players need to time their taps to the beat of one of the game’s 30 songs as they bash enemies and dodge obstacles, raising their combo meter and trying to set a high score through impeccable timing. The gameplay and soundtrack are complemented by the game’s vibrant graphics and character designs that make each of the game’s playable characters look truly distinct. To go along with that there are different scenes, bosses, and even pets that will help set the tone as players try to tap to the rhythm.
Muse Dash’s 30 track playlist is not quite as large as some rhythm games (though it’s the same number as Cytus II‘s base game), the game’s developer has said that more tracks may be added in the future.
As part of a launch promotion, Muse Dash is currently $1.99, down from its regular price of $2.99. It does not contain any ads or in app purchases. Here’s a trailer with a look at the game:
