The maker of Crusaders of the Lost Idols has announced that their new idle game is coming to Android and iOS later this year. Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms gives players a chance to dive into the Forgotten Realms, a popular Dungeons & Dragons campaign setting.
Like Crusaders of the Lost Idols, Idle Champions is a game that focuses on building a team of heroes and putting them in the right formation to take down anything that stands in the their way. Idle Champions features a variety of Dungeons & Dragons heroes, monsters, and even some lore and story elements. That being said it is still a clicker/idle game, so players should not expect to have total control over the action.
Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms is already available on PC via Steam Early Access, and thus far the game has received a warm reception from PC gamers. It currently has 80% positive rating based on nearly 2,000 reviews.
Smartphone users looking to pick up the upcoming idle game may be out of luck as the game has only been announced for Android tablets and iPads. This likely has a lot to do with the game’s user interface and the amount of text present in the game.
Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms will be free and it will contain in app purchases. The game is currently scheduled to be released in Q2 2018. Here is an excerpt from the game’s description and a trailer with more information:
- Unlock Renowned Champions: Collect renowned Champions from the world of Dungeons & Dragons, including fan-favorites from R.A. Salvatore’s best-selling novels and the Force Grey web series. Unlock additional Champions added to the game through campaign updates and limited-time events.
- Formation Strategy: The key to completing each adventure is mastering Formation Strategy, knowing which Champions and synergies are needed to defeat the infinite waves of enemies.
- Explore the Forgotten Realms: Take your Champions on a ‘grand tour’ of the Sword Coast, exploring familiar locations within the Forgotten Realms as they tackle each adventure. The game receives regular updates with content inspired by the official Dungeons & Dragons tabletop role playing game adventures, including a trip to Chult with the Tomb of Annihilation.
