The Elder Scrolls: Blades Coming to Android & iOS This Fall
The Elder Scrolls is coming to Android and iOS later this year, and gamers can pre-register for the game now. The newly announced The Elder Scrolls: Blades will be a new entry in the Elder Scrolls universe, bringing mobile users a taste of the franchise’s world as an RPG for the first time.
The Elder Scrolls: Blades puts the player in the shoes of an exiled Blades agent who has returned to his/her town to find it in ruins. As players progress in the game they will be able to rebuild and customize their city, unlock new NPCs, and even visit their friends’ towns.
The game will be a 3D first person RPG, giving players the ability to explore dungeons and other environments as they hunt for loot and take on the game’s creatures.
Blades will give players the option to either use a virtual joystick or tap to move, and combat will be done using swipes and gestures. Players will have access to magic and abilities to help them as they go through the game. The series’ signature massive open world is nowhere to be found, and instead the game will use a mix of more manageable designed and procedurally generated environments.
Those looking for something a bit more competitive will be able to go into the game’s arena mode and take on other players in one on one battles.
Notably, the game will be playable in both portrait and landscape mode.
Though Blades will be the first Elder Scrolls RPG on mobile, it’s not the franchises first mobile entry. Card game The Elder Scrolls: Legends was released on mobile last year. This Bethesda’s 3rd mobile release following Legends and Fallout Shelter. The latter has surpassed 10 million downloads on Google Play alone.
The Elder Scrolls: Blades is scheduled to be released this Fall on Android and iOS. The game will be free to play, and players should expect in app purchases.
