Strategy Game Castle Burn Passes 1 Million Download Mark

Castle Burn

Bluehole’s head-to-head strategy game Castle Burn has passed the 1 million download mark two weeks after its global launch. To celebrate the milestone, Bluehole is giving away in-game currency and card packs featuring some of the game’s 50+ different heroes.

Those 1 million downloads have translated to more than 500,000 matches being played each day, so users appear to be sticking around. On the Android side of things, the game has surpassed 500,000 downloads through Google Play alone, though those numbers include regions where the game was available prior to its August 7th global launch.

To celebrate the game reaching the 1 million download mark, Bluehole is holding a One Million Castles event. Players who log into the game between today and August 26 will receive in-game currency and card packs they can use to upgrade their heroes.

As part of the milestone announcement, Bluehole has confirmed that guilds and guild wars will be added to the game in the coming months, giving players more social and PVP options.

Castle Burn is a head-to-head real time strategy game that has players summon some of the game’s units using a limited but regenerating pool of energy. The game changes the standard head-to-head strategy formula used in titles like Clash Royale by allowing players to construct buildings and upgrade their castle within each match. The shift moves the game closer to more traditional real time strategy games, while still having collectible and upgradeable characters that are summoned in quick head-to-head matches.

Castle Burn is free and contains ads and in app purchases.
