The Tower Defense Monkeys Are Back in Bloons TD 6

The monkeys are back in Ninja Kiwi’s Bloons TD 6. The latest entry in one of the preeminent tower defense franchise has brought back much of what fans loved about previous games while adding some 3D elements and more content.

As with previous games in the franchise, Bloons TD 6 is a tower defense game where players position monkeys (towers) that are tasked with stopping the oncoming onslaught of balloons. The game’s 19 balloon popping primates range from dart tossers to flamethrowers as well as two brand new monkeys: the druid and the alchemist. Each of these monkeys can be further upgrade to increase their balloon popping prowess. Not to be outdone, the Bloons come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and colors, from the simple red bloons that take one hit to pop up to deadly M.O.A.B. (mother of all bloons) monstrosities.

The first change players will likely notice is that the game now has 3D monkeys and buildings. The change is mainly aesthetic but some buildings will strategically obscure the battlefield. As one might expect that also means all new maps, and Bloons TD 6 features 20 unique maps for players defend.

Those not satisfied with the difficulty the base game provides will be able to play through modes with added twists that restrict their use of monkeys, increase bloon health or insert other complications into the mix.

Bloons TD 6 is $4.99 and contains in app purchases. Here is a trailer with a look at the game:
