Ninja Kiwi’s Bloons Adventure Time TD is now available on Android, giving gamers around the world the chance to defend the Land of Ooo from the Bloon invasion.
The latest game in the long-running Bloons TD tower-defense game series, Bloons Adventure Time TD offers players a mixture of characters from Cartonn Network’s popular animated series and the monkeys of Bloons TD. Players will need to place their characters strategically so that they’re able to take down wave after wave of oncoming Bloons.
That means Finn slashing away while Princess Bubblegum tries to slow down the oncoming Bloons and Max the monkey throws darts at any balloon that comes within range.
Each of the game’s characters is upgradeable, both in and outside of combat. Prior to taking on the next stage of the Bloons invasion, players can level up their characters and equip them with weapons and trinkets to boost their abilities. Like previous Bloons TD games, each character can also be upgraded during combat or between waves in order to boost their range, up their fire power, or give them a new ability. Players will find that some upgrades are locked away until a character is of a high enough level, or is close to a particular ally.
Bloons Adventure Time TD takes the series in a slightly different direction. Not only is the game free to play and more dependent on in app purchases than previous titles, it is also more story driven. Players can see how Finn, Jake, Princess Bubblegum and the rest of the gang goes from one region to the next recruiting allies to help in the fight against the Bloon invaders.
Today’s Adventure Time TD global launch comes a couple of days ahead of the game’s expected release date of August 30th. Though the game was already available in Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, and Singapore as part of its soft launch.
Cartoon Network has been active in licensing their properties to mobile game developers as well as publishing their own games based on their numerous cartoon series. The Bloons TD series is the latest series to get a Cartoon Network makeover, and follows in the footsteps of a CN themed Match Land, and an Adventure Time version of Ski Safari. In some instances the Cartoon Network versions of these games become more popular than their original releases.
Bloons Adventure Time TD is free and contains ads and in app purchases.
