Update: Asphalt 9: Legends is now up on Google Play in most parts of the world, a day before the game’s expected launch. Original story:
Asphalt 9: Legends now has an official global release date. The latest entry in Gameloft’s long running series will launch on July 26th on Android, iOS and Windows 10.
Gameloft’s upcoming racer promises over 50 vehicles, 70 tracks based on real world locations, and the ability to race against up to 7 other players. While 50 vehicles may not seem like much compared to the number of cars previous games have had, it also allows the game’s developer to focus more on each car. Beyond just multiplayer racing, players looking for a more social experience will also be able to join clubs and work with like-minded racers to unlock milestones.
The game will include the option to use Gameloft’s new TouchDrive control system which simplifies the game’s driving controls. Those that prefer to use the classic control scheme will have the option to do so.
Players can still pre-register for the game and work towards this week’s goal of unlocking a pack featuring the Lamborghini Centenario.
Asphalt 9 originally soft launched in the Philippines on iOS earlier this year before letting Filipino Android users in on the action. The soft launch expanded over time, letting players in Australia, Thailand, and Malaysia in on the action.
Asphalt 9: Legends will be free and contain in app purchases. Here’s a trailer with a look at the game:
