Gameloft has announced that Asphalt 9: Legends, the latest game in the company’s fast paced arcade racing series, is coming to Android, iOS, and Windows this summer. The upcoming racer will have clubs, online multiplayer, dozens of vehicles and much more.
The latest entry in the franchise features over 50 different vehicles, 70 tracks based on real world locations, and a multiplayer mode with up to 8 players. The game’s 50+ vehicles is a step down from Asphalt 8: Airborne’s 190+, but that might also allow the game to focus more on each individual vehicle. More cars could also be added in future updates.
In a first for the long running franchise, Asphalt 9 will feature clubs that allow gamers to create their own clan-like communities that work together to unlock milestones. The game will also allow gamers to utilize a new streamlined control scheme called TouchDrive, which is designed to give the game a more strategic feel. Those who prefer the classic control scheme can stick with that.
The game first soft launched on iOS in February, with gamers in the Philippines getting first crack at the new racing game. The game’s soft launch later expanded to include Android users, and it is also limited to users in the Philippines.
Asphalt 9: Legends will be free to play and contain in app purchases. Here is an excerpt from the game’s Google Play description and a trailer with a look at the game:
