MMOJRPG Alchemia Story Now Available in English
Asobimo has launched an English version of MMOJRPG Alchemia Story on Android and iOS, bringing the popular game to fans outside of Japan for the first time.
More story driven than most MMORPGs, Alchemia Story is best looked at as a JRPG that takes place in a shared world. The game focuses on its story and events rather than shuffling players from one mode to the next, so much so that much of the player’s time early on will be spent watching the game’s cut-scenes rather than in its unique combat system.
After some mandatory downloads and a setup procedure, players are taken to the game’s character creation menu. Beyond basic options like gender and hairstyle, players have access to sliders to change their body type, hair length, eye color, and a number of different facial features.
The game takes place in a world filled with color and imaginative creatures that would feel at home in any console JRPG, a stark contrast to games with more muted color pallets like Royal Blood or the upcoming Darkness Rises.
Monetization wise, the game has a loot gacha / loot crate system that lets players acquire gear using premium currency.
Unlike many games that release a separate global version, the international version of Alchemia Story has the same Google Play page as the Japanese release. That means players looking at reviews will notice a lot of older reviews in Japanese and others mentioning the desire for an English version of the game. Players should know that the game has launched new servers for English users, giving everyone the chance to start on a leveling playing field.
Alchemia Story is free and contains in app purchases. Here is a trailer with a look at the game:
