Asmodee Digital has released a new, more kid friendly version of their hit board game adaptation Ticket to Ride. Ticket to Ride: First Journey is an adaptation of Days of Wonder’s board game with the same name. In the game players compete to be the first to complete their train routes as they visit major American and European cities. First Journey features simplified gameplay allowing it to be played by the whole family, making it a good way of introducing younger kids to the world of board games (or their digital adaptations).
Ticket to Ride: First Journey has a solo mode, and a pass-and-play mode that lets up to 4 players enjoy the game on one device. It is priced at $1.99 on Google Play with no ads or in app purchases. Here’s an excerpt from the game’s Google Play description, and the official trailer:
CONNECT THE CITIES TO GET YOUR 6 TICKETS!
Collect train cards, claim routes on the map and try to connect the cities shown on tickets. Each player starts with four colored train cards and two tickets. Each ticket shows two cities, and the aim is to connect those two cities with a contiguous path of your trains in order to complete the ticket.
On a turn, you either draw two train cards from the deck or discard train cards of matching color to claim a route between two cities. Once you complete a route, you will be given a new one. The first player to complete the six tickets wins. It takes a little risk but it’s lots of fun!
