Open beta for hero collection RPG Ouroboros Project Begins

Gamers looking for a new hero collection RPG that weren’t satisfied with the recent releases of Chain Strike, Marvel Strike Force or Danmachi Memoria Freese now have another game to check out. Prishen Game Entertainment’s Ouroboros Project has now entered open beta, allowing gamers from most parts of the world to give it a go.

Ouroboros Project is a turn-based RPG that takes place during a zombie apocalypse where humanity has turned to using ravagers, artificially created heroes, to fight the zombie hordes. These game’s ravagers consist of a mixture of heroes from legends and historical figures. That means you might have Mozart and Thomas Edison fighting alongside Robin Hood and Morgan le Fay, all while taking on the undead.

Along with a user interface that fans of Persona 5 might find familiar, Ouroboros Project has a couple of gameplay mechanics not often found in mobile hero collection games. The first thing players will notice is that heroes in the game do not instantly regain their health after every battle. Instead they have to heal over time in the game’s hospital, including lengthy recoveries after falling in battle. This effectively replaces the stamina system used in similar games. The second thing players will notice is that summoning new ravagers is not handled in the same way as your typical gacha games. Players use resources to begin manufacturing a new ravager, but that process takes a while to complete. Both healing and manufacturing new ravagers can be sped up with special items.

Unfortunately the game may not be available for users in Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore or South Korea. Moreover, Ouroboros Project appears to be incompatible with screen filters at this time.

Data from the closed beta test has been wiped, but the game’s developer has announced that player data from this open beta will be kept.

Ouroboros Project is free and contains in app purchases. Here is an excerpt from the game’s description and a trailer with more information:

In this game, you will play as a talented Connector, a member of an anti-zombie organization who declared to “secure people and resurge knowledge”, known as “SPARK”. You lost your memories after being struck in a battle. Hence, you have to relearn how to lead your Harbingers, retrieve memories and go on your adventure. During the journey, some dark secret and conspiracy are waiting to be exposed!
