“Layton’s Mystery Journey” Gets a Free Starter Kit Version
Fans of Level 5’s Professor Layton series will be happy to know that the series’ newest mobile entry now has a free starter version. Level 5 has released Layton’s Mystery Journey – Starter Kit, which includes the prologue and first case from the game and gives users the option to try the game before making a commitment. Players have the option to buy case packs that include 3 or 4 cases, or the full pack that includes all of the game’s cases.
Layton’s Mystery Journey was released in 2017 as a premium game that was priced at $16.99. The game stars Katrielle Layton, the daughter of Professor Layton, as she solves a variety of cases around London. She solves these cases with the help of Sherl, her talking dog.
As with previous Layton games, Mystery Journey is filled with puzzles. Players will need to solve a variety of puzzles to advance in their cases. Although puzzles represent the core gameplay of Mystery Journey, they are paired with a story sequences that feature the charming 2D art that the series is known for.
