X.D. Network, which is perhaps best known in North America for porting To The Moon to Android, has released ICEY. ICEY is a high paced side scrolling action game and also the name of the game’s protagonist. The game was originally released on in November 2016 on PC via Steam where it enjoys a strong 92% positive user review score, and has received a free content update.
Players will need to quickly dodge, attack, and counter as they fight off their robotic enemies, including some large scale mechanized bosses. As they play the game, ICEY’s story will be told by the game’s narrator, who will react to players as they explore the world, or refuse to go along with the game’s narrative. ICEY’s abilities can be upgraded using cash found while playing the game. As this game does not have any in app purchases, things are not balanced in such a way as to force players to grind or pay real money for upgrades.
ICEY is $2.99 on Android and iOS, and does not contain any ads or in app purchases. That’s a lot less than its $9.99 price tag on Steam. Word of warning, ICEY’s recommended configuration includes at least 2 GB of ram, so users with older phones or low-end tablets might want to skip this one. Though there is an image quality setting in the game. Here is an excerpt from the game’s Google Play description and a trailer with more information:
