Only a day after it was teased, the head chucking platformer Decap Attack is now available on Google Play. First released on the Sega Genesis in 1991, Decap Attack has since been ported to various consoles over the years. The game follows the adventures of the mummy Chuck D. Head as he tries to thwart the plans of the evil demon Max D. Cap.
How does a mummy accomplish this heroic feat? Well Chuck D. Head was specially designed for running, jumping, and using his head as projectile, of course. Oddly enough, throwing one’s head seems like a more natural thing for a mummy to do than running or jumping. Nevertheless, Chuck will need to jump on enemies, platforms, and whatever else he need to jump on as he traverses the game’s levels. When that fails, he’ll need to use his head to defeat his adversaries, including a number of the game’s bosses.
Unlike most Sega Forever titles, Decap Attack has Sega Genesis branding, and not Sega Mega Drive. That is likely because the game was originally released on the Genesis in North America, and not in Japan on the MegaDrive like most titles. Though Decap Attack is essentially the western version of a Japanese Mega Drive game based on the Magical Hat anime series. As with most Sega Forever titles, Decap Attack is free with ads. Ads can be removed for via an in app purchase for $1.99 It is also playable offline and has controller support.
